My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--
It gives a lovely light!

I am a 30 year old student at the university of Iceland, who is at this moment dedicated to the welfare of the aging part of society at Sunnuhlið. One of 7 siblings I have turned out to be somewhat of a noisy girl, with the abilitiy to play nice at times.
"riding astride a rugged pony,
children adored she's never lonely.
steady wind blows flaxen tresses,
in lover's arms she offers caresses.
bubbling sulpher springs beneath,
it has been decided and bequeathed.
in snowy climate and harsh terrain,
that overall an Ice Queen reigns."

Nice pic. Wonder what the brownish sign says. "Icelandic Old Forest Reserve"? ;)
I didn't realize that Iceland would have enough light for a picture like this so close to the winter solstice. You're practically on the Arctic Circle and still have 4 hours of day and 7 hours of visible light. I guess the place has compensations, eh?
Good luck with those tests. Remember to sleep. Best possible test preparation.
Icy, true enough. I leave the house and it is still dark, I leave the university and it is dark again...somewhere in between I am pretty sure daylight must have happened :)
Oh boy here we go... pictures to make me long for your stunning scenery once again. I asked my Mom-in-Law recently if the long dark hours bummed her out, after having spent over half of her life away from them here in the states and then returning for visits in the winter. She said it just comes back, like riding a bike. No bother, jusr reality... "You just get used to it". I think I could get used to it...

Love those pics! Good luck with all your tests, and your Quill Driving, I know you'll come up with something interesting. :)

Brian, thank you.
Morgan, you have probably seen it with your own eyes at one point!
Theresa, I have to admit I am having loads of fun with it...if I submit is a whole otehr story ;)
Glorious sunset. Great photos. Shouldn't you be mining?
What a 5 o'clock world! It's dark by the time you get off work. Might as well study.
Doug, shouldn't you race the first president?

Yes I watch daylight from behind my office windows each day. So sad.
Beautiful photos while I'm trapped here though :)
Lovely pix! I love the cold, but don't love the dark.
