Snark Wednesday...

is when Penguins are abroad.

Head on over to The Snark where I am trying to blend in today. Danger of silliness ahead!

You won't think vitamin C is so funny when your teeth and hair fall out!

And, excuse me, but wouldn't a penguin be an Antarctic American? Who's editing this stuff? Have they never read Encyclopedia Brown?

Sorry, I'm feeling threatened as a nerd.

Morgan, hurry slowly. Accidents happen that way :)

neva...there is a selling point. E-bay?

Doug, You just raised the bar of nerdiness to new hights! Geeks everywhere applaud you!

Encyclopedia Brown was the smartest kid ever.

When is your new penguin cartoon book coming out? I want one.

PS: Minka, the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word GEEK as:
"1: a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken, bat or snake."

It presents a strange picture in my head to imagine these afore mentioned geeks applauding our Doug.

terry, I actually have a little scrap book with penguin pictures I am collecting...especially from newspapers...funny you should mention that :)

I am sorry, but that is a funny mental image my sick mind is painting from your definition. I am looking into mental help ;)

Minka, dear girl.....Hubby and I have been bothered by an "Arctic" penquin since I first "met" your Royalness. I couldn't get to "comments" fast enough when I saw this cartoon. I took a running dive and I have skid marks on my nose and hands to prove it:-) Thanks to Doug for speaking out.

AND....."American"? The Arctic belongs to Canada! Toss this cartoon in the shreader:-)

c.c. LeLevre

Love ya, anyway!..........Judy

TLP...I am glad, apparently thsi cartoon creates quite some uproar, which is sorta nice.

JD...I simply love this cartoon, because it applies to me so much. The whole identity confusion in my mind, question to where I belong. I love this cartoon for its black/white African/Arctic American innuendoes. Since I am never ever gonna date an Icelandic guy ever again, this will happen to me. I am gonna meet parents where I have to explain my own peculiar penguinity. And because it is so locationally wrong, but since I am the only actual Penguin in Iceland where no Penguins have ever been seen...I love this cartoon. So i am very sorry, but no shredder for this one :)

What's wrong with Icelandic men? I adore mine...

terry...I was just trying to demonstrate how to fit my exceptionally large feet into my even bigger mouth :)

Seriously though, my answer would probably be...a different generation! I just don't get them...and since I only live in Iceland I can only speak for this particular location...I wasn't much impressed with the German varient either and as you probably have gathered by now...I have a weied sense of reasoning...I rather assume there is something wrong with every boy out there, before facing the mirror to myself :)
As evidence for my meager hypothesis I have many a foreign girl living in Iceland, expressing a similar attitude. And that's my case...I am not going to court with it, don't you worry!

Poor penguin. That was quite a spot you wound up in. This week's Thursday pre-trivia obnoxiousness is hereby postponed.

At 03:49, Blogger tsduff said...

*sigh* - Perhaps all the good ones are as you say... of a different generation. You are far beyond your years my dear penguin, and probably will have to travel the wide world to find the penguin King to match your rank of Queen. He must be some bird!!

Poor Minka, I think I understand what you were saying above about Icelandic men. For me it's Dutch women.

As for the other stuff, of course you're right. From another perspective "All women are crazy. Find one who's crazy fits yours."
