I am back in Iceland for a day...

not much time for many words, but here are a few pics from my trip. I'll get more personal when I get back from the second leg of my vacation!

Probably an inside joke. Niece number 3 (Marie) in our little garden, bathing in the sun.

Monika in Amsterdam, on some side alley. Notice the cute little red lamps in the background. It took me a while to realize why those were there and I think I have never walked an alley down this quickly trying very hard not to look anywhere but straight ahead.

My sister and my nephew Max. You know what, I think you have to be a baby to pull off a smile with only two teeth. Max is 8 months old and his Mom's pride and joy.

My three nieces. Yes I know, beauty does run in the family!

I am not a big hugger, but some arms feel very nice wrapped around oneself.

And here they all are. I am a very rich aunt. Marie, Jessika, Max and Anja.

Well, looks like you have enough rugrats to keep you completely busy with hugs and stuff :-D

Hey, I didn't see those red lamps when I was recently in Amsterdam... great picture! I did like Amsterdam.

Very beautiful family.

I would, innocently, end up on a street like that too.

So, Minka, as you hurried through that alley did your face intensify the red glow?

I'd like to think that I'd have stopped, pointed, giggled and tsk, tsk-ed, butI probably would have done the same thing you did.

You are rich indeed! Ay, they are just too adorable. Big hugger or not, those little ones will make you one. Good for the soul.

Somehow you don't seem so coy in your pose in the red light alley. Watch it girl!

Looks like a wonderful trip and safe trip in the rest of your travels.

neva, take your time! There is a lot of cuteness to be had:)

Morgan, I've heard rumors:)

Doug, how very perceptive. The middle niece is her aunt personified.

ariel, you don't? they always get picked on by the black sheep though!

terry, I absolutely loved Amsterdam. What an amazing history, architecture and collection of weirdos to behold!

goldennib, innocently is the important word. It's not like I went looking for it :)

quilly, I could have lit the street all on my own :)

G, it's was a wonderful start to the second leg of my race, there were balloons and stuff and penguins everywhere:)

You are indeed a lucky and very rich Aunt.
Your nieces and nephew are bautiful...don't you just love babies?

Minka, thanks for showing us the pics of your truly beautiful family.

But, about the pic of you in Amsterdam....I don't think it's safe for a pretty girl to stand on THAT corner holding a sign....or were you holding up the building?

Isn't the architecture amazing and amusing? Some leaning structures seem about to fall over and others are shored up by braces on the outside. The age and closeness of the buildings is so charming. I love it too......Judy

I imagine you are either in the air right now, or in (is it a secret?)

Moa, we should just meet in NY during the next week. Let me know when you have time and we'll hook up. I am doing shores from 6.30 til 17, but after that I have two hours of free time before I have to clean the dishes and scrub the kitchen tiles :)

J.D...Amsterdam was amazing and by the by, it was your son that walked me into direction of this street, I think the two of you should have a talk!

TLP, no it is not a secret...I arrived yesterday evening around 19 in NYC.

hello? did you forget about the laundry?

Mo'a: she'll have an hour and a half of free time each day... except on Monday and, maybe Friday... depending on how much ironing there is. ; )

What a nice bunch of blondies. Makes an old Dutchman like me feel good.

For the record, finding those red lights was entirely innocent. We went no where near the actual Red Light District.

But did anyone notice those lightbulbs were high-efficiency ones? Morally bankrupt sure, but not environmentally insentitive.

neva, I am ironing as I type, really! :)

diesel, honestly I feel that at least one of them would look a bit more like their aunt!

Morgan, I know that...you know that, it just makes real good blog fodder!

Born in Løten, Norway and trained in Kristiana, his paintings make up some of the most striking symbols in modern culture. Recently, some of his work was stolen out from right under the nose of museum guards.

Well, it's Thursday in Reykjavik.
