Thursday comes with trivia...
This one´s for you:
"In the late 1700s, he grew up in Pennsylvania, where he enjoyed working on mechanical objects. After working in London as a painter, he went to France where he designed and built a submarine. The French didn’t put much faith in his creation, and his new sea vessel also met with skepticism in America. His steamboat, The Clearmont, sailed from New York to Albany in little more than a day, revolutionizing trade and transportation in America."
You know what to do...off to the comment section with you lot. Hint away!
This one´s for me: why should only you engage your braincells?
What does your drawing say about YOU?
The results of your analysis say:
"You tend to pursue many different activities simultaneously. When misfortune does happen, it doesn't actually dishearten you all that much.
You are a direct and forthright person. You like to get to the core of the issue right away, with few signs of hesitation.
You like following the rules and being objective. You are precise and meticulous, and like to evaluate decisions before making them.
You have a sunny, cheerful disposition."
Hmmm...
Have I mentioned that I can juggle and eat spaghetti at the same time? Talk about simultaneously! I don´t even mind when a bit of the red sauce spills over my white shirt. Damn sauce! Now, why did it have to spill on my shirt, well...there´s gravity to be sure or God simply knew I was gonna post infront of you guys and saw an opportunity! But this is just how things go, happens to everybody at least once, maybe twice...often even more than that. Did I leave soemthing out? Nope!
*smiles*
Ok...see? Proved the personality assigned to me by a computer program down to the dot on the i! I actually think I came out better than I really am. Which is always good any given Thursday.

Since many inventors earn fame
From gizmos not met with acclaim
The best engineers
Aspire to jeers
And folly that's given their name.
Steamboat Willie? No, probably not. I'll have to get to Wikipedia for this one (like I didn't for the others, shhh, don't tell anyone). We want to see you juggling and eating spaghetti right now.
One thing about the analysis of your drawing caught my attention.
"You like following the rules..."
Is this something new about you? Have you changed? Mellowed perhaps with the additional age?
Joel, I agree. She doesn't even like following her analysis.
All I know about that inventor is that he was full of hot air... uh, I mean hot steam. :)
I think all women are multi-taskers, and we all spill stuff on our white shirts too. It's one of those silly laws of nature. If we're wearing a black shirt, nothing will spill on it. If the shirt is white, there will be a stain on it before we make it out the door.
Penguins are always cheerful. I've never heard of a depressed penguin.
Doug, yep.
Theresa, it will all be revealed in good time. And that´s what second lifes are for!
Joel, I am about 2 month away from you...are you certain you wanna pull that age card?
Doug, what ar eyou trying to say?
Jamie dawn, yes he was and Penguins need to be of a sunny disposition around here, melts the ice better...so we can cook our fish!
Minka, did you mean the Clermont?
I like following rules. But only to freak people out, since normally rules are things that only apply to other people, and anyone who knows me knows I know that.
Know where he's buried?
Oh yes you do.
i don't know much about this man -- aside from what you've told us -- but i did remember a particularly funny quote regarding the first time he pitched his steamboat idea:
"You would make a ship sail against the winds and currents by lighting a bonfire under her deck? Excuse me, I have no time to listen to such nonsense." ~ Napoleon Bonaparte
of course, Napoleon ultimately commissioned the Natilus, which was taken for a test drive (swim?) in 1800.
as for rules? dearest Penguin, you follow the rules because you're the one who makes 'em up in the first place! which is, i might add, just one of the many many things we lovelovelove about you! : ) xox
Morgan, I´ll add that little sidenote to your profile.
AL. YES I DO! thnakyouverymuch. I had a good teacher!
neva, didn´t mean to gloss over you like that :) And I love when you come with a bit of additional knowledge to add to my trivias. test swim- definitely!
He was not only an engineer. He was also an artist.
And, a sturdy little boat it was. It could carry more than a full ton of...anything.......J.D.
Hah! A clear indicator that you're a European - we Americans call it "Pennsyltucky."
We do? Right! We do.
A full ton - now that's sturdy. Was it a yellow submarine (listened to that cd oh 2-3 times all the way through at Julian's behest this evening).
You know my drawing said the same thing about me. They were nothing alike, ah interesting.
My analysis results said:
"You can't draw worth a crap!"
:0(
Mean analysis program thingie!!!
Oh, and could you come over and give us some advice about Not that I'm saying you have experience in that area.
Geez, I'm just sticking my foot in my mouth! I mean MY Bra Fat! :0) Thanks!
Well that didn't work out too well.
BRA FAT was supposed to be the link. :0P I'm new at this HTMLing stuff! :0)
Quilly, yes...very good with a pencil for that matter.
JD...a ton of feathers or steel? That always puzzled me as a kid, I assumed a ton of steel was so much heavier than a ton of feathers. Brought my IQ test down by quite a bit :)
Snay, let´s celebrate variety then :)
G, are you trying to tell me, I shouldn´t live my life according to it? I´ve made plans and everything :)
ZOA, I knew that before I took mine. But I sorta like my horse :)
I´ll be over in a little bit...blogging is not so much encouraged in at my work ;) And html stuff sucks but becomes fun after a while. Youa re doing very well...a coupleof weeks of head-butting later you´ll be where I am now:)
world is back to normal because again I have no idea. I DID think of Ringo Starr, though, when you mentioned the submarine...
Monika, watch out! that is not a path but the biggest boa I've ever seen!
Did he move to England, with only forty guineas in his pocket, in order to study painting?
okie dokie: here's my "analysis"
You tend to pursue many different activities simultaneously. When misfortune does happen, it doesn't actually dishearten you all that much.
You are a thoughtful and cautious person.
You are creative, mentally active and industrious.
You have a sunny, cheerful disposition.
does this sound like me? (maybe) does this sound like YOU? (why yes, i believe it does!)
most importantly, does this sound like your mystery man? (i'm guessing it's possible) ; ) xox
ariel, it´s a forgivable mistake. "We all live in a yellow submarine...yellow sbmarine..." *loses plot* and ariel, there are no snakes in my life, not even subconciously!
Theresa, very possible, I don´t know the exact amount...he bought some snack, while stopping in Icleand on his way over :)
neva, you cautious? Interesting concept :)
I love how horoscopes and online personality tests can apply to almost everyone:) And in teh end, I bet you teh picture didn´t even have anything to do with it and I put so much effort into the tree with all the apples!
Now, if it's who I think it is, he weighed a full 2000 pounds, that's no folly.

Aha! I know THIS one is George Washington!
So, when are you telling everyone the correct answer for the steamboat person?......Judy
Birdwoman, I think you are right and just to make sure, look at the bottom of this comment.
Diesel, yes...it is George Washington, you have done well!
JD. yours is an intriguing question and it shall be answered:
ROBERT FULTON !!!
