It´s Thursday...

"A profound and prolific writer in the Danish "golden age" of intellectual and artistic activity, his work crossed the boundaries of philosophy, theology, psychology, literary criticism, devotional literature and fiction. He brought this potent mixture of discourses to bear as social critique and for the purpose of renewing Christian faith within Christendom. One of the fathers of existentialism, his contributions to the development of modernism, his literary experimentation, his vivid re-presentation of biblical figures to bring out their modern relevance and his fervent attempts to analyse and revitalise Christian faith are amongst his major achievements. He is said to have "burned with the passion of a religious poet", was armed with extraordinary dialectical talent and drew on vast resources of erudition."

Now off to teh comment section and hint at this week´s great mind. You are free to limerick, hint, make excuses or simply say HI. The only nono is to blurt out the answer, which sorta would be like me telling you that Harry Potter doesn´t die in teh final book! Don´t go there...I know where your blog is.

Rabbit, rabbit...Hare, hare...Hase, hase and Good Luck in June! *winks at the Pezes*

In case you need to vent, I am sure Homor-Blogs would enjoy some input to that extend!

He was madly in love with and engaged to Regine, nevertheless he broke off the engagement and never married. Although Regine married someone else, it is widely believed that they always loved each other.

This fellow (I think) believed in RESPONSIBILITY. He thought you should be good for your own sake and certainly not for God's sake because he DID NOT BELIEVE IN GOD. His name rhymes with one of THE SIMPSONS.??????????.....JUDY

Well, it's been a long time since I was in school, so forgive me. I went back to reread today's teaser and right there it says he had the "purpose of renewing the Christian faith". Guess I'm not the brightest bulb.....or the sharpest pencil.....Judy

Wait...what, now?

OK, let's start with not only don't I know the answer I don't even understand the clue. So here's my flying shot

You can read Wikiped' all you want
Of great minds in an old German font
But hist'ry you'll find
Is defined over time
And great thoughts need dead thinkers to haunt.

Oh, and whoever he was, he was the last person to use the word "dialectical" and know what the hell he was saying.

He was a fan of Irony, therefore I am a fan of his, even if it was socratic irony.

At 07:35, Blogger Minka said...

Quilly, yes Miss Olsen is not only a main character in "House on the little Prairie" she infact was a major female influence in his life :)

JD...if only I knew all the Simpsons by name :)

DOug, you serious? I did it? You must be kidding. But glad to see you can still limerick although you have no clue what this is about. He is very closely associated with the German philosopher Hegel, more than anybody I think. Not that they knew each other personally very well, but their philosophies related.

Logo, 15 minutes, see? I told you!Yes, I certainly can belief that about him, after I googled socratic irony :)

I was bright-eyed and busy-tailed yesterday ,and raring to go on your trivia game, but my computer decided I shouldn't get anything done at all. I still don't know how I managed to connect today, and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Like the man you describe I am making a "leap of faith", and believe that the God of Internet Connections will let me publish this comment.

Well, then, Minka, I guess if I knew anything about Hegel, beginning with whom he's closely associated with I'd be in business right now.

Oh, and I killed Harry Potter!

Hase Hase!

His first name is the last name of perhaps the most famous of the early VJ's on MTV. Said VJ's first name is the same as the baby girl character on the 60's sitcom Bewitched.

Confused? Was this lame? Yes. Sorry.

okay, this is a tough one. i like the following quote because A) it makes sense, in a strangely rational way, and B) it reinforces the fact that the first part of your mystery man's last name is quite similar to the last name of the first Captain of the Starship Enterprise. (my head hurts, too)

"Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards."

Rabbit, Rabbit sweet Penguin! ; ) xox

This fellow is giving us lots of trouble. The only thing I know about him is that he's a pain in the butt. This not a clue, it's a complaint........Judy

At 19:31, Blogger Minka said...

Theresa, I can get on board with a leap of faith, I just have never been inspired enough to jump!

Doug, are you mocking me? No, that can´t be it...must be the " feeling stupid thing". And Pascover, humor about "the boy who lived", will not be appreciated.

Joel, what are you doing to me, man? I had to google for minutes on end before I can nod to your hint. You keep forgetting I am European and German and 29 and NORMAL!

Neva, I can see why the two of you hooked up! It´s a good quote though and definately by this week´s know-it-all-better :)

J.D. So he hunts you, too? I´ll pass on the complaint ;)

At 19:33, Blogger Doug The Una said...

I was mocking me. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

At 20:02, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Minka...I'll buy your first three claims but must question the fourth. Besides...what fun would it be to be NORMAL?

Glad I made you work a bit...builds character...at least that's what my Dad used to always say.

A thunderous philosophy professor of mine stood up on a chair the last day of class and proclaimed, "Young minds, one thing you must always remember, K is the greatest mind of modern human thought."

He was also one of the Backstreet Boys, for, like about a year.

What? What?!?!

Oh, no -- don't you tell me -- I am, like, totally so right on this... Totally.

At 21:55, Blogger Minka said...

Doug, that´ll be the day!

Joel, that is a good point...I donæt mind getting me some of that character thingy you are talking about. Can I chew it?

Old Mule, some people are just very passionate about him...my philosophy teacher at uni was not a major fan of him, but then again...he was a fan of little but hearing his own voice.

Al, like, oh my god, so totally right. *flicks hair*

Minka: His father felt so guilty and unworthy that he believed God was going to kill all of his seven children before they reached 33 and therefore never get older than Jesus. His father seemed to be a jolly sort of man.

At 22:45, Blogger Minka said...
