Be a nice Earthling today...

´cause Gaea...well, it´s her day and women get weird when you forget something like that.

People have been attending to her for quite a bit (I am so not gonna be the one to call her old today!); Wegener, for example, found matching bedbugs on opposite sides of the Atlantic. What have you accomplished?

Now, be gentle with the earth... it´s not like we got one spare!

totally necessary addendum:

Q: What did one cloud say to the other?

A: I'm cirrus about you.

I am sorry, but this cracked me up all morning!

I'm being an enviro responsible earthling today. Didn't get on a plane I was scheduled to. (Sick)

I'll drive 60 miles in my truck to walk two with my dogs. Is that good?

I'm sure that joke has a silver lining.

Hey! Matching bedbugs on opposite sides of my head!

I think we'll have to start being "cirrus" about saving the Earth. I've acomplished not doing my ironing today, how about that?

We seem to be conserving energy today...mostly our own, but by doing very little we have also reduced our use of natural resources. That's good, right? We also today announced our intent (to each other) to plant "some things" soon.

alex, that´s deep!

Morgan, hope you feel better soon...you realize that the plane flew without you though, right-just one space left empty!

Hi, Minka......I'm feeling the same way Morgan is today; so I'm taking some time to check your site. WOW! You are good. Where do you find the time to put fingertips to keyboard, combine imagination and thought for such a fun blog?

In Canada, we celebrate Earth Day by cleaning up public areas that we messed up yesterday. We pick up paper and junk along streets or parks or streams. Fifteen or twenty years ago we just didn't see that on Canadian streets. Some people plant trees; we did that a few Earth days ago. But, today I'm down and out.

About Thursday.....That LADY had a husband who was a CAD,I'VE A notion. ( Ya. That must be a typo.) Please excuse me. I'm sick!........J.D.

I am doing my part to conserve natural resources. I have pledged to bathe once every other week. That will conserve water.

When I get my own talk show, I'll hire you as one of my comedy writers.

What Doug said. He'll be my second hire.

Doug, I think the earth has made its excuses for you and your ways a long time ago :)

theresa, I have done my fair bit today: I strokes a tree, said helloa dn goodnight to the universe at large (it did not seem to care much!) and didn´t eat any of my choclates, so I wouldn´t produce waste paper.

Joel, that´s a good start. Preserving energy....I love doing that any given day. A nice chair and teh closing of my eyes..YEAH!

JD, thank you so much...I hope you and Morgan have used teh weekend wisely, recharged you batteries and rise and shine this fine Monday morning!

MOM, nothing beats self-importance in us Human beings. And although our mothers could well live without you, they sure enjoy having us around and go shower-head shopping with them :)

Quilly, I don´t bathe at all :) How good am I...I am more of a shower person. Someone once told me, I waste way more water that way. Is it true?

Fred, I am not sure about the order of your hiring, but I sure would take that job in a heart beat. You want my CV double spaced?

Minka -- I was told that filling the bathtub wastes more water! Also, I was told that dishwashers use less water then washing dishes by hand.

Anybody know the truth? Inquiring minds want to know?

Hooray for Gaea, but Mother Nature's on my shit list after the past few cold weeks. Thank goodness spring finally got its ass here.

Cirrusly, that was one funny joke, dearest Penguin! not to mention a grand post! sorry i didn't see it sooner, but since Joel left a comment, i'm guessing you know which one of us was "conserving" energy at the computer yesterday! ; ) xox

Quilly, see that just goes to show that people tell you stuff to make you feel bad regardless of what you do!

snay, if I would follow suit Mother nature would be 9 month out of 12 on my shit list, and that´s just not compfortable math :)

neva, he always does a fine job doesn´t he?! I took his comment to be coming from the both of you. After all you tend to use teh same computer ;) His preserved energy is your preserved energy, baby!

Minka, that is an excellent Earth Day joke, with reference to my favorite Earth Woman Gaea... well done :-D well, all except the bedbugs. I'll leave them in the bird's nest thank you.
