It is all about the game...

The opening festivities. The flags of all the 32 nations participating.
Heinze and Drogba in action!

Schweinsteiger, Frings and Lahm- very good together in the German Team!
Luis Figo hurt on the ground. For some reason he has always been one of my favourite players.

But ladies, it is also about these: my newest discovery!

Tomorrow is a big day. The USA is playing. Brazil is playing ...I am having a day off. In case anybody is looking for me. I am in the blue Lazy-Boy infront of the television ... cardiac arresting!

While you're cardiac arresting, I'll be dodging rain squalls and wind gusts from the tropical storm.

I'll try and catch the game, too.

I was a soccer Mum....or as they say here Mom. I taught my son some moves, he thought that I was cool....come to think of it....I was. I have a confession.....I LOVE AMERICAN FOOTBALL....all those tight ends LOL I, however, had a hard time getting in to it at first, like why do they call it football? Annoyed everyone with that question and at first I would say " Where is that weird ball" puchuated with "Do you call that a ball" I stoped when I got tired of all the discusted looks I got from the men. I still love soccer/football. My personal trainer....a female plays on a team and also teaches soccer/football. I think that is neat. I used to play Handball....what? you say....Minka explain :)

WHO is that last guy! Me likey a lot! Lickalicious!

Iran/Mexico... *sigh*... don't remind me! DAMN YOU MEXICO!!! DAMN YOU!!!!

But yes, them Iranians are hotties... why you think I got me one at home? And boy do they know what they are doing when they do those things they do so well! *ROAR BABY ROAR!***

Hmmm... I have a feeling that talk of footbal elsewhere, like on a man's blog, would be quite different than that found here....

Ooooh! Did someone say tight end? Ok... this is too sizzlin' a conversation! Oh Loverboy! Come to mama!

At 11:24, Blogger Minka said...

Jamie Dawn, not to worry. I don´t judge people according to what they believe. I feel, for instance that toast, tomatoes, onions and salt and pepper accompany coffeee to perfection! But I have heard Americans say that a lot about soccer. It is mor eof a strategic game and sometimes 90 minutes are spent on a nil/nil! Just as life is. I have to agree that a score 28/24 sounds much more active :)

TLp...the fun is being had!

karma...hear hear! and see Ariel´s comment. As I said before...many a team will be beaten by the Czechs...theya re really good!

Ariel...Agree!

Miz B. My newest eye-candy is called Roque Santa Cruz and he plays for Paraguay. I saw him and I knew I had to see that game against very closely! Yummy!

At 16:47, Blogger Doug The Una said...

Minka, South Korea beat Togo 2-1 in case your chair folded up and you were trapped inside staring at your feet with the television just out of view.

At 18:33, Blogger Doug The Una said...

Switzerland tied France, 0-0. They just can't get past neutral, can they?

Just in case a sheep ate the broadcast antenna.

At 18:37, Blogger Minka said...

Doug, you are so funny. I painted my toe-nails while stuck in the chair though!

brian, I havenæt seen all the teams play yet. But I think The Czech Republic and Brazil are going to go very far, if not to the end! I´d like to see those two in teh endgame. Although I always have this flimme rof hope that Germany might surprise us. But the host of the World Cuo (Germnay this year) hasn´t won the cup in 20 years. Odds are against us...

At 18:42, Blogger Ariel the Thief said...

I told you the Brazil is on on Tuesday! *happy dancing around* you really really frightened me for a while!

At 19:03, Blogger Minka said...

I am so sorry, there was a misprint in our newspaper and there I was ready...yesterday evening at 7 to embark upon it and what happens...no Brazil. But the big hour is about to happen. Five minutes to the game!
*dances vividly aroudn the old folks at work*
Brazil Go, Go !!!!
Croatia is a tough team to beta though, we shall expect a very good game. Soryy I worried you! Forgive me????

Hi Monika!

At 19:59, Blogger Ariel the Thief said...

but of course!

I think commentator is there to tell you things you cannot see yourself, as he's there in the stadion while you're watching on the television and in the hand of the cameramen. what does ours do? keeps telling statistics, anecdotes and family stories while the game is going on... but anyway. it's a good game.

At 20:04, Blogger Minka said...

Hi...ich werd ein der Naehe von Mönchengladbach sein bis aum 15 juli, dann fahre ich in den Norden. Vielleicht klappt es ja.

Ariel, 1:0 for brazil, who would have thought ;)

At 20:28, Blogger Kelly said...

My office mate is from England so all she talks about is how well they are playing this year.

At 21:08, Blogger Ariel the Thief said...

the commentator ran out of the stories and statistics by the second half, bless him. I'm with you, Croatia!

At 22:07, Blogger Minka said...

My utopia...I was actually thinking that England played particularly badly. But I think it is all about loyalty...

Brian...why, how much do you charge. You see I am flying to Germnay and everything...a little tight this month!

ariel, they were really good. Croatia that is. What a defense! Admirable! I just thought they were like loose chicken infront of the opposite goal.

At 04:34, Blogger Ariel the Thief said...

they left Kaka alone, wasn't a good idea indeed... but they were not only on the defensive.

At 12:26, Blogger Minka said...

I agree, but the defense was so outstanding, becuase tehy stopped Brazil in their tracks and that isnæt an easy thing to do. I saw Kovac much in the front and doing good things. But didnæt you have the feeling, when they were infront of the opposite goal, they always took a second to realize that theya re there and surprised how they got there. And by the time they final kicked that ball it was too late! Just my feeling...

At 17:27, Blogger Ariel the Thief said...

you can be right. and even when they didn't hesitate, they shot like they don't really believe they can kick the goal at all. but I am terribly proud of them! they were fighting.

At 23:28, Blogger Minka said...

ariel, I sure hope they get far. That was some good soccer!
