Horses and Cars!

I spent this weekend in the countryside. Love to get away from the noise and the constant checking of my wrist watch. I exchanged my car for a horse, my clean room for the stables and my creamed hands for sore blisters.

In between shoveling horse shit and cuddling new puppies, I took three little guys on a trip to see waterfalls along the southern route of Iceland. Boy oh boy oh boy! Three guys and one worn out Monika were the result of that trip. But we had fun. There is one waterfall in Iceland where you can climb behind it. We did that and needless to say: they were amazed. We had a picnic, in the kind of weather you guys would probably get out some gloves and a scarf, and waded in ice-cold water. We are all sniffling ... but nothing major.

I arrived home looking like I have just escaped Survivor Palau. Dirty fingernails, oily hair in a pony tail and torn clothes. But even worse, my lovely car was in a state of dissaray. Otto Dumbledore really felt bad and the other cars were starting to point...hmmm...headlights at him. So after work this morning I took him to the washing area and pulled up my sleeves. It was quite a sight, three guys and me cleaning our cars. Now you would have thought that guys would spend more time maintaining their vehicles than girls...but guess who was the last of us four to leave!? Come on, I dare ye! That´s right...yours truly! But not without giving instructions of circular-movement appliction of wax to guy number two, who stayed the longest. When he finally gave up and packed, I gave him that look of utter dissapointment and said:
"Leaving already?"
and he replied:
"Well, I thought rubbing it twice all over should be enough, how silly of me!"
He really thought he could get smart with me!
So I said:
"You say that stuff to your girlfriend late at night?"
He left!

And last but not least click HERE!.
Just do it!

I just love the country. Sounds like you had fun. That java thing was really nice. My Uncle Tom & Icy helped me make one from scratch, but it is more like a Mad Lib game. It's on my sidebar. You have a wonderful blog here! We all love it and think you are great!

Actonbell, it only takes one step into a carwash in case you can´t be bothered :) I tired that too but wasn´t very satisfied with the result, so I´d rather do it myself.

Jamie, ye sit was fun and I wouldn´t give these moments away for anything. Although I appreciate them much more from hindsight:)

Tim, it is a nice one, a small one but the most fun!

Móa, it is actually Seljalandsfoss...but we also went to Skogarfoss that day. And no it is not too far form Myrdalsjökull!

Feels good to see the kids. Was laughing about "your sweetheart". In front of the waterfall it seems just like he's "Superman" (with the arm in air). Or who is his idol at the moment? :-) Miss you all!

At 18:40, Blogger Minka said...

VI, will be right over. % songs about busses? God, I have to use my two remaining braincells for that!

myutopia, yes it was had by all. especially since the atcion is in the past and I only remember their smiles!

Heike, think at present we are most proud of Batman, but Peter Pan is also in teh picture. It changes weekly! :) I love him so much!

Well Minka, The Idiot and I are afterall stranded on a deserted island together...and while we do not have a blanket, alas! We do have to share the same raggedy, weather worn tarp night after night in order to fend off the westerlies....

Did you make a song list?:D

At 20:02, Blogger S said...

So what does that expression mean anyway?

At 20:32, Blogger Minka said...

it means something like cooking something up together. To tease and trick others!
