Idol and Stiletto
Yes! Ladies and Gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to present the Icleandic Idol 2006. His name...wait for it...Snorri Snorrason! His name is Snorri and he is the son of Snorri. We are nothing if not straight-forward in this country. Snorri is a true testiment to the Icelandic ideology that it does not matter so much how qualified you are for something, but whom and how many you know. He has been compared to the likes of Brad Pitt and Hilmir Snær, some Icelandic acting prince. To me he is about as exciting as the prospect of ironing or polishing silver. Without the steam and sparkle!

I actually like it when people are called "someone the son of someone". many Arabian names says "someone the mother/father of someone". in the end makes it easier to find your way around who is who.

Ariel, yes I love teh whole Daughter/ son of thing too. Just when the father has the same name as the son it seems a little ridiculous to me. Jon Jonsson is similar to John Smith, or Bill Miller or something...just even more so!
It made my friend laugh-she didn´t trip-, but the lady next to me wasn´t very impressed with my snob-skills;)

This I am writing from norway, I had to go all the way here, a 12 hours trip, to find a functioning internet connection.
