Hands and Animated Creatures

I went with a friend to theatre last night. A small stage, one performer and a wonderful two hours. The title was "A brilliant divorce" and it featured the idea of a middle-aged woman after her husband shops in the junior section and runs off with little Miss-New-Boobs. Her portrayel of the empotion from desperation to acceptance to finding a new life is comical, brilliant and very life-like. She held my attention all the time, I understood almost every single word(Icelandic can be a pain in the ear to understand for any foreigner!) and I laughed through the entire show.
What did I learn? Ladies, listen up! Guys prefer women with small hands. Why, you might ask?! It is because in small hands their...hmm how to put this?...poking devices look bigger than when the meassurements are opposite :)

Today I went and saw ICE AGE "The Meltdown" and melt I did. I have come to love those 5 creatures in these movies and the many journeys they undertake. My heart goes out to the little squirrel-type thingy (don´t know the species in English!) that spends two movies pursuing the same tree-fruit. Manfred is cool as well! But something out of the blue happend. TLP, Actonbell, 3D and AP3-avert your eyes!!!
The friend that went with me had no idea what a PEZ is. I know! See I told her I had to get one-they come with the pop corn and coke- and she just looked at me as if I had recited a poem in Chinese! When I bought it and showed it to her she said:"How old are you again?" I smiled and filled my Pez with lemon-flavoured pieces and offered her one. She likes! During the movie I played with my Pez a little, crawled up her ear and stuff and she giggled like a teenager. I am nothing if not persvasive!

Aw, those five creatures do look adorable. You know, I've heard of Pez; but couldn't tell you a thing about it.

Your humor is somewhere between the red of a cardinal and the black of a crow. :} BTW, how small are your hands. Ha,ha.

"poking devices look bigger than when the meassurements are opposite" ... LMAO... I have small hands, so what does that mean? LOL!

I really want to see Ice Age... hope it is as good as the first...

Sounds like a fun play or was it a one woman show? Who is the actress? Good for you to be able to understand so much Icelandic, as you say it can be hard to understand. I try to keep up with the new words as they come into Icelandic, otherwise it would be imposible for me to understand all that is said to me.....and what I read in the Morgunbladid.

You are wonderfully pervasive AND I think even persuasive.
Thank you for spreading the Pez gospel.
That creature is referred to as
Scrat (a mixture of the the word squirrel and also rat). He is the very favorite character of Thing One and Thing Two.
I wonder if my hands are small?
:-p

Dear men,

My hands (from the wrist to the top of the middle finger) are:

left: 16,5 cm
right: 17 cm

Yours sincerely, Ariel

Cool. Which Pez dispenser did you get?

ALRIGHT...Pez in all its glory...and LOL at how old are you again?

Once you have had Pez, Your life will never be the same.

And that lil guy chasing the nut.

He is mostly squirrel..squirrel describes him adequately

Doug, see that is teh trouble with being a foreigner. The word I was actually looking for is persuasive! I am still laughing at my own lexical chanllenges in life :)

Tim, just check in my sidebar...TLPor Dddragon or AP3...all their display pictures are Pezzes :)

Ben, I hope that is a compliment and my hand are small actually. Many of my features are small...feet, hands and ears.

shayna, it probably means that te guy you are with is self confident ;)

auntie, it was a one woman show. You probably know her. Edda Björgvinsdottir. She was really good!

Logo, just ask the better half in your life :) He will know if your hands are small or not;) A scrat? That is so cool. Thank you for telling me!

ariel, mine are smaller...which means I get all the insecure ones ;)

Cube, I made the poor bored Icelandic girl find me the scrat dispenser...she wasn´t very happy about my childish demand, but I guess my sincere smile caught her of guard...

cowgirl, I advise it. Go and see, it will make you laugh. With all the small features I got, my cleavage made up for it. But for some peculiar reason guys don´t mind larger equipment in taht area. Puzzler!

Aisha, I haven´t met anybody who did not like Ice Age. It sounds kinda stupid, but once you saw the first movie you are ready for at least 2 sequels :)

Snav, I hear you and your stomach will hurt from all the laughter. There was an incident when I was sipping some water during the movie and just at that moment a joke was made that had me laugh. Water everywhere:) Taking me to the cinema is like going with three kids.

Actonbell, youa re the kinda person that could appreciate that kinda play. And yes, of you go convince Ekim about Ice Age. Tell him you have an Icelandic-German weirdo as a friend and she insists. It should work!

TVI, Indeed, once a Pez and your are addicted for life.

Monika, you're pervasive too. Is it ok if I stay out of the whole "small hands" discussion?

At 07:34, Blogger Minka said...

Doug, you are hereby excused. It is a tender point to half of mankind ;)

The play sounds great! Ooooh! And talk of "poking devices"! Me like! ;-P What can I say? Incorrigible is my middle name!

I have yet to see the new Ice Age movie but I did like the first one... I think I saw it when I was in labor with one of the kids and it was on Pay Per View (which we got for free!)... so my memory is blurry at best!

Ice Age broke all kinds of box office records here. I saw the first and am looking foward the second, though I don't think I'll be lucky enough to get a giant size Pez. No they don't actually make giant size Pez, it's just they appear that way in my petite hands. ;)

At 16:20, Blogger Minka said...

Miz Bohemia, I knew you would appreciate this under-the -belt-talk;) Some of us are frank, honest and courageous and I am not talking about me :)

Sar, petite hands? Well you do have two children. So soembody wasn´t afrais to show you body extremeties...

Poking devices *snort*. I so have to use that in a story. LOL.

I have small hands. Score! And to think I thought this was hindrance when I played the piano. Hah!

Your Pez dispenser story made me chuckle. I buy the candies, rest one on my tongue and then stick it out. Hm. Maybe I'll use this as an icebreaker in Arizona next week. I'm nothing if not perverted. ;)

At 20:10, Blogger Minka said...

You go Jen, I think a girl sticking out her tongue(with pez or without) will make it to wherever she wants to go!

At 20:15, Blogger Ariel the Thief said...

that is one persuasive thought, isn't that?

I myself am truly envy of your lexical knowledge, hope it makes you feel a little better. :-)

At 21:52, Blogger Alana said...

It is possibke to be both pervasive and persuasive. I think they might go hand in hand actually...oops, I really didn't mean to bring up the whole "hand" thing...that darned subconscious! I'm looking forward to seeing Ice Age II, but they don't give out Pez here...too bad.

At 22:17, Blogger Minka said...

ariel, are you serious? Than thank you for teh compliment! Most of the time I find myself lacking the lexical words I am looking for and always have to settle for teh next best thing :( The better word is somewhere floating in my head, but I never can quite catch it!

Squaregirl, they donæt give out Pez here either. You have to pay for them :) But you can get them quite easily and if you are really determined you can make the girl even give you the one you want:) Come here for a visit and I will help you acquire one;)

Bonus with small hands, I suppose, would be how much larger a man's hands look in public when he's holding a tiny paw in his... and you know what they say. Large hands, large...gloves.

Thanks for the ice age review. We're always on the prowl for a good kids film.

Birdwoman...oh I heard a similar one. " You know what it is about men and large feet, right?! They need bigger shoes!"
That crakcs me up!
