Oh my God....

the length I go through to blog! Some medicine specialists would like to write a case record of my insanity, I am quite sure. At the moment I am sitting on the floor in a cold room- my fingers freezing- because I found a tiny signal in this huge house of ours. Granted it takes five minutes to load up a page, but once I see my common blog-gound I am happy.
So I kinda decided to make my Thursday Brain-Teaser post and hey, it might only take and hour and a half to publish it :) Makes me feel like I earned it, when it finally appears!

"He declared his reign, as leader of Japan would be one of “enlightened peace”. However, during his rule Japan warred with China and joined the Axis powers for World War II. After the Japanese surrendered, he made the historic announcement that he was not divine, as all other emperors had said, and gave the go ahead on a new constitution."

If you think you got it, go to the comment section and HINT!!! at the answer. Therby leaving clues for fellow neuron destroyers to vernture a guess as well.
Have fun with it. I will try with my wavelength-challenged internet connection to guide you along your quest of knowledge!

I once knew this. Bet I could find the answer at the library without the help of the Internet. But I'll wait to see what others come up with.

Hope your Internet problems get resolved soon.

I think, though I'm not positive, this ruler's name is partially akin to hero in sound?

Sorry about your internet connection woes. :( Maybe Icelandic Mom can knit you some mittens with the fingertips open until you can get a proper connection.

Honestly, Monika, it seems like the least you can do for us.

Sar's right and his Son, the current emperor's name is the same except it's Aki...

And I am sure Mom would knit something like that if she were asked. I myself am a fair knitter too!

Answer: Hirohito

"Hirohito (April 29, 1901 – January 7, 1989) was the 124th Emperor of Japan according to the traditional order of succession, reigning from 1926 to 1989. Since his death he has been known as Emperor Sh?wa (Sh?wa Tenn?) in Japan, although he is widely referred to as Hirohito, or Emperor Hirohito. His reign was the longest of any historical Japanese emperor, and oversaw many significant changes to Japanese society." source:Wikepedia

au contraire, aisha. We Americans are taught plenty at schools, but most of us don't heed our lessons...

that being said, I did know Hirohito. One more brain cell that could be used for something useful... like my son's birthday... instead is focused on remembering things that I could look up easily.
