Thursday Trivia....

Yeah...we are out. It is almost a hundred percent. Iceland lost today against Norway. I like handball a lot and seeing Iceland play makes me proud and I can hardly sit on my chair. I keep jumping up and screaming and thereby scaring all the people around me. Today´s game was important, so I went to a local pub to watch it with some other fans. It is always more enjoyable, than watching it alone. I was the only girl at the pub...it was fun to be just one of the guys. Well, we´ll just be European Champions next time!
I was almost thinking of making this Thursday Trivia about handball, but than we lost...so I don´t feel like it now. Instead you guys get this:

"Although her stage name is forever linked with being a spy, she was born Margaretha Geertruida Zelle in Holland, in 1876. A dancer, she traveled across Europe befriending German officers. The French accused her of passing information to the Germans during World War I and had her executed in 1917."

You think you know her name...go to the comment section and HINT! at the answer. This way others get a chance to play as well and those that don´t know the answer can use your hint as a further clue to guide them to the right answer.
Off you go..it is in your hands to cheer me up now :)
Isn´t my template pretty?

Her first name starts with the same consunant as my last name and her last name is the same consunant as the first name of your mother. Nice hint?
Mom

W.O.W. The new template is stunning! I love purple so much. MizB is so talented. So my sweet sis is an Ice Princess? Well you are in Iceland, so okay. ;)

I posted a little something you might appreciate today.

I'll be back in a bit for the trivia - now it's bus stop time!

Monika,

I like the new digs and even learned something about Iceland today...who knew you had Groundhog Day?

Alright, I confess in advance. I wanted to participate but came up empty, so I cheated.

Hint: She was once known as Lady MacLeod, a circus horse rider in Paris.

MizB said "Check this out. I did this." And I said Okay. So I'm checking it out and it's very nice.

Purply. Me like purply.

Bravah, Bohemian. I felt like I should slap on my toque and sheepskin mitts though.

Sar...ok? bus stop time you say? well, whatever doe sit for you;)

poobah...what an honour. I know you from Sar´s comment section and you found your way all the over the Atlantic ocean to this island. Well done with the navigating and welcome!

Yes sar, ahe did on the stage in paris around 1905. You are right! Well googled indeed :)

Jenna, thanx for stopping by and yes: there is no such thing as bad weather here, just inappropriate clothing. *the queen gracefully extends a scarf to the new guest at her court!* Miz B. did an outstanding job. No surprise there:)

First name is Spanish for the third person of "to kill"

Last name is the same as the first name of a principle character in Asimov's Foundation novels whose last name was Seldon.

Why do I think my answers are as obscure as the question.

At 00:29, Blogger Minka said...

Doug, obscure they may be, but right they are.
Yeah, I forgot about RAVEN! Time to read Assimov again...

doug: Your answer is nearly as clever as my one. The foundation is nice. But they smoke a lot.

I don't get riddles. They make me want to drink and that will take me 2 days to recover from so...shrugs.

I'm a MizB tagalong. She leads, I follow. Thanks for swinging by the loony brigade.

Yay! You guys met Jenna! She is one hot ball of firey, sharp and funny wit!

Monika, I love coming by and checking out your home! I love having something that links us and ooooohhhh! Pretty clock! And it matches the decor of your home! *SWOON*

You are magnificent!

I am off to do my yoga but first I had to check in with her Royal Highness you see! Bohemians, staying true to their nature, cannot curtsy, so here's a boho jig just for you!

*bohemian shakes it as she makes her way unto her yoga mat... Yeah, baby yeah!*

I can't compete with these clever hints... Geez.

jenna: well then I am just glad this is one of the places Miz.B: stops in, so I xpect you here as well in the future:)

Miz.B.: isn´t it pretty, the clock I mean....there is no way of telling that is does not belong to the template. It fits perfectly. I found it yesterday night and matche dteh rigth colours. *Queen knowingly smiles*

AP 3: I blame Doug. He can be confusing like that. And you don´t hav eto do the riddle, just having you come by and day hi is all that matters :)

Yes, your royal highness. *curtsies prettily* See? I have manners.

No, not her, the other one!
YAY me!!

Miz B is an awesome template tweeker.
That sounds a little naughty.

Jeesh, the girl gets a crown one week and the next she's a full blown queen. This means I get to stay royalty by virual sisterhood, right?

At 17:33, Blogger Miz BoheMia said...

Logo if being a template tweaker makes me naughty then bring it on! Bohemians looooveeee being naughty! Meow!

Monika, you make a beautiful Queen and have taken over your kingdom oh so gracefully!

At 19:28, Blogger DeAnn said...

Glad you didn't make it about handball. I would have known nothing.

That said, I think you spelled her middle name wrong, if Google's any indication. Should it be: Geertruida?

At 19:41, Blogger Minka said...

Jenna, i am glad to see that not all is lost. There is still hope;)

Logo...I think she is naughty by nature. In a sweet way of course!

Yes Sar, I knew you´d wnat the crown back one of these days, so I kinda had to promote myself. Queen rules: Monika does not need to return the crown!

I rule with ice-cold wit, a shiny crown, a sparkly personality and a frozen stare. My wand is a magical icicle. I think this kingdom is gonna last for quite a while.

Deann, I think the middle name is right, but than again my Dutch spelling, much like my English, is not to be trusted. Oh, and welcome here...youa re new I just noticed:)*queen graciously bows her head in direction of new arrival*

Monika for Empress! Thanks, Biene

At 15:40, Blogger Miz BoheMia said...

OOoooohhhh! I am loving all these compliments! Thank you!

Bohemians looooveeee compliments!

May I bask in the glory of it all? Bask, BASK I SAY!

At 19:17, Blogger Minka said...

Doug, I am so glad you didn´t say Monika for President :) Empress..hmm...very interesting indeed.

Actonbell., yes she is and I am saying this with the conviction that her ego just left through the roof. But she deserves the praise. Sometimes I just sit here and look at my template, because it is so wonderful. I would like to pint out that I put in the purple clock. I demand respect for that as well :)

Miz B: you bask away my friend!
