Scary days and nice people!
On Sunday I relalized that I had lost my phone somewhere. That is really scary in my world. You can always get a new phone, but the numbers in there are precious. So I took the car and drove to all the places we were Saturday night and NOTHING. Late in the evening I received a phonecall that informed me that my phone had been found and I could pick it up at the next poilice station. An honest soul had gone through the trouble of picking it up and delivering it there. It amazed me that somebody would do that and wondered-if in that position- I would have done the same.
Then...yesterday during Yoga exercises ...I discovered a lump under my arm-pits. When I poked it, it hurt. Now if that is not scary I don´t know what is. So I tried to make an appointment with my doctor, but she is fully booked. I didn´t sleep all night...although telling myself that everything is probably ok. This morning I went to a local doctor- I just couldn´t wait any longer. It turns out I have swollen sweat glands or something like that and it is nothing dangerous. Now I have another appointment with him in two days to see if the swelling has subsided.
Breathe, Monika!
->here is a little trivia about sweat glands:
"The average person has 2.6 million sweat glands in their skin! Sweat glands are distributed over the entire body -- except for the lips, nipples and external genital organs."

I can feel many little lumps in different areas of my body... the inguinal, the side of the neck and the armpits... I had them checked too... turns out they are lymph nodes and because I am skinny easy to feel and sometimes see! Don't worry... it is probably a similar thing going on with you my friend!
Yes, I am thin too. So that might be the reason. I tried to understand the doctor, but medical terms are just so difficult to comprehend and especially when they are Icelandic:) But hey, he said not to worry and smiled. So I stopped being worried. Thank you, sweet Miz Bohemia.
So happy this was nothing major. U really had me worried there for a while. Gotta love them lumps eh?
everything is fine now, didn´t mean to worry you!
whew!! Glad that the lump turned out to be nothing serious, and glad that you got your phone back!
Now, did you make a list of those numbers?
It all works out for the best for you, doesn't it, Monika? Hope it always does.
How did you lose your phone on Saturday? :P
ddragon...wrote down those numbers immediately into my new scheduler :)
Doug, you´d think it would have been me under the influence, but it wasn´t. It was a friend who used it and put it into her laps, forgot about it and when she left the car it fell into the snow! Although slightly compromised in my walk, speech and singing abilities that evening -I brought myself home safely with clothes, purse and everything! I just wanted to set that straight!
*big sigh of relief*! Glad to hear you got both your phone and piece of mind returned to you. :)
Monika, you had a lot of people around you taking care that you wouldn´t get lost (remember? That saturday evening?)....
Sar, life indeed is great!
Mom, what are you talking about?
Sar, I trust you meant peace of mind. Monika's mind seems whole to me. At least since yesterday.
Monika, understood! I lost my cell phone over a plate of ribs so I would never have lost any respect for you in any case.
Geez, I'm so glad the lump was nothing!
I did yoga yesterday too. We ROCK!
I bet you would've done the same if you found someone's phone.
It is good to know there are still honest people in Iceland :)
I am glad that the lump was nothing serious.....you can now call me fraenkamo'a....my family get's larger every day :)
Doug, I didn´t even noticed that sar mis-spelled. That is usually my thing:)Over a plate of ribs, really! Talents you have, my friend!
Ap3, yes we rock and with grace!
Frænka Móa...taht sounds so great. To a new found family tie. Cheers!
I had something very similar happen to me. I left both my cell phone, and my wallet, at a supermarket. I went thorugh one of those fancy self-service lines and left both of them there.
After realizing my mistake, I called my number, and to my delight, a supermarket worker picked it up and had it. I went back, bought $25 in lottery tickets for the person, and thanked her over and over.
I hope there was a winner in there somewhere.
Glad the lump is only that. Whew!
Fred, Lucky you and I hope there was somehting in the tickets for the woman that found you wallet. I tried to get the name of the person that delivered my phone to the police station, but he didn´t leave a name...I would have liked to thank him somehow.
That stuff can be scary, but such a great relief when they turn out okay. Dogs have sweat glans only on their bellies, that is why we lay on our backs so much. And we hope you saw the little thing we put on our blog about you. We think you are a really good human and we love your blog!
Icy, I did not see it until now. Thank you so much for mentioning our weekend together. It was so much fun. And you are one of my favourite dogs in the Whole Wide World! Nelson aske dme to make a lot of flat bread for children in Africa...I have been very bussy!
All's well that ends well. *sigh of relief.*
Doug - A wise guy, eh? I should give you a good old smack for that. ;)
Hey! My 7yo is learning homophones and I think you just did her homework for her - thanks! Smack revoked.
TLP: right you are. The sense of relief was so great.
Sar, the poor dog did not know what hit him ;)
Monika - C'mon, it's virtual ladies' night out!
