Doorway Sniffer and an efficient Mom

Doorway Sniffer came around today. No, there are no drugs involved! He just has a huge nose and yet: never catches a cold. He comes down from the mountain because he smells the Leafbread and Christmas foods we are preparing. His nose brings him straight to the sorce of these delicious holiday preparations. I totally understand that he will be gone tomorrow, ´cause we are preparing the most horrid dish you can imagine...(see post tomorrow!)

My mom has decided to dress our Christmas tree with Quality Street sweets this year. These sweets are so prettily and colourfully wrapped that the tree indeed looks lovely. But that is not the only reason for her un-conventional choice of tree decorations. There are a lot of kids around and they love to take sweets from the tree...you see where I am going with this? By the time she has to take the tree down (6th of January) all the sweets will be gone and...-yes, you got it!- the tree will be ready to dispose off without her having to do anything at all :)How efficient, Mom! She tries to deny her German blood, but I think it shines through now and then.

So, what is your favourite sweet during the Holiday. Something you couldn´t live without?

Wow, in America we'd call that a high fastball down the middle. My favorite sweet thing. It's too hard to choose among all of you.

That's quite a sniffer! You know what they say about men with big noses... They have a really good sense of smell.

My favorite holiday sweet... hmm... any homemade cookie, I guess.

Oh yes, ap3, some homemade cookies too, but they must be gone before christmas. Not so difficult as two grandchildren (and Monika) are already here.

Favorite sweet... I have been thinking about it and nothing comes to mind! Aaaaah! *bohemian panics*

Honestly, anything sweet makes me sneeze and can give me bad allergies! So, these days I am into fruit juice ice pops...

Móa, I love Marzipan as well. But I couldn´t live without Toffee :)
Doug, very well commented *applaud*.
AP3,Oh..I thought it was said that they need bigger tissues :)
Mom, the two grandchildren have-in all fairness- done the major part of cookie consuption!!!
miz bohemia....I love Ice-cream after the huge dinner. I read soemwhere that when you eat a heavy dinner with a lot of meat, your brain starts to desire sweets-to balance :) That is why I could never be a vegitarian...I would loose my argument for eating sweets :)

Don't trust any of those, "you know what they say about men with big this or that." Always check it out yourself. It's the only safe thing to do.

My favorite sweet thing to eat is chocolate of course, but after that, I guess maybe fresh baked cookies. Or maybe pecan pie. Oh, or pumpkin roll. So many wonderful things to eat! So little time until the New Year when we must all stop this crazy eating!

Merry Christmas to you Monika, and your Mom.

Jeesh! If you filled that dude's nose with nickels you could retire.

Monika, this is like another quiz and you're testing us, right? There's no way to pick just one treat. Though, actually I had the holiday spice blend coffee at the beanery coffee shop at the mall recently and it was a delicious and unlikely holiday treat.

Hey Monika, I'm just checking in to say Merry Christmas. Sorry I missed some of your posts. I have company coming later today; I'll be back next week to comment more regularly. Have a great holiday weekend!

Up until now I thought the sweets I could least be without were Nóa konfekt. But I decided against that this christmas and didn't buy it. I know that shocks u Monika! So I guess there is nothing I can't be without this christmas. There is one thing that I cannot be without and to me that catagorizes as sweets, those sweet french stringbeans with the steak. Weird, I know. Merry christmas Monika!
